I have a bunch of talkgroups I wanted to add to my custom Favorites file, so I went to use PP 0.9 to read it in to the computer. This scanner was last written to by the most recent version of Sentinel.

Upon reading the file, I get the error "Cannot obtain StateID on line 466" and a declaration that the Favorites file is corrupt. Line 466 is the first trunk system in my Favorites file and reads as such:

Code:
Trunk TrunkId=204 StateId=101 Calgary Digital Radio Off 10/12/2009 11:31:08 Motorola

That line is unaltered from the same line as it appears in the actual HPDB. State 101 is the province of Alberta, and in fact on the multiple conventional system definitions preceding line 466, it shows as "StateId=101" and is evidently read in just fine.

I'll attach the full Favorites file for perusal, but it hasn't been altered from what Sentinel reads/writes, so I would have thought PP would read it.

Any help would be appreciated..

I created a favourites file in Sentinel and added the Calgary system to it and I was then able to import it to PP. I am wondering did you create this file using the HP1 interface, PP or sentinel? It seems to be missing a line in the header information, so I think I will have to update PP to compensate.

Created by Sentinel.

What's missing? I can't see any difference between it and the HPDB or any other trunk entry.

I think I have it working. Somehow, the Favorites file works in the scanner, and reads and writes using Sentinel, but if I try to import that same system into a new Favorites file, the line starting with "AreaState" is added (whereas it is not in the original, which, as I say, still works fine). Weird.

By the way, do you know PP is writing Alberta as StateId=1000 instead of StateId=101?

No, it does not change any of your state IDs. It might assign 1000 though if you create a system from scratch within your favourites. Thats because there is no state associated with it and this could lead to .. issues... Originally I had this ability disabled but got a lot of complaints about not having it so I enabled it.

I didn't create a system from scratch. I navigated the database as loaded, to Canada>Alberta>Statewide, and right-clicked on "Calgary Digital Radio" and selected "Add to Favorites", then clicked "OK" on the subsequent pop-up which asked me to choose the (only and pre-existing) favorites file to put the system in.
