Please note that PP 0.10 is *NOT* compatible with the upcoming firmware for the HP1. It will not be able to read or write files to the HP1 and I don't know if the new version of Sentinel will import your old favourite files. This means if you have spent hours creating custom lists, they be gonzo with the new update.

An updated version of PowerPatrol may be a ways off and I'm not sure if it is even needed since Sentinel will get editing capabilities. Plus, I am a lot more focused on other projects these days, so I don't know if I will even find time to update it.

Assaf,

I would guess that if a person was to take the current configuration they have put together using PP and have loaded in the radio and use that configuration to download into the current Sentinel, it probably will migrate to the new version of Sentinel.

I can't imagine that Uniden (based on Paul's latest video) will wipe out previous favorites lists.

From what I can tell they will be preserved. I got to play around with a beta of Sentinel and it brought over my favorite lists.

Cross post from the Yahoo group:

I don't want to throw fuel on the fire but there seems to be some strong opinions on this matter. The reason I decided not to updated is because some of the new features like the sophisticated mapping/GPS will take a long time to develop for editing support and I just don't have time.

Not sure if it is safe to disclose this but I did get to test PP with the new firmware. It will not read from the HP1 with 2.0 format at all.

It will write to the HP1 if you tell it to but in an incompatible format (1.0). It still works but could lead to some problems and probably is not a good idea.

Perhaps I will just do an update to make it compatible with basic programming and go from there.

 Shocked
You have done sooo much for us, Assaf, don't abandon us now!  I realize that you have other things to do, but I hope you will find the time to work up a few things for PowerPatrol to do, when we find areas of the new Sentinel that need improving.

Thank you for all of your hard work and cool FREEWARE programs.

We'll see what the future holds, PowerPatrol's suspension is just to get it out of the way for bigger ideas that I have.

I would like to see a new update. Home Patrol Sentinel does not have a plotting maping system like you have in the freescan version which i use ever time to set my new scanner programing up. Makes it much easier when you can see the coverage area on a map and can pin point the locations where you want your systems to turn on and off. I would also like to be able to use the square plotting but am confused when you cant see what you are duing with out a map. I hope i am making sense hear and hope to see an update in the future. Please keep up the good work and thanks for all the work you have already put in.
