Hey there, new user of Freescan and may I first start by saying WOW! great program! I'm really really impressed!

Im using Freesscan with my newly acquired Uniden 396XT and have been able to set up upload/download to work correctly, however I seem to be having ongoing issues with recording/logging.

I've managed to narrow it down to crashing everytime I press the playback button on the log screen - any ideas or help to point me in the right direction?

Using Windows 7 Ultimate x86 and have tried uninstall, reboot, and re-install so far but without no success. A copy of the windows error log is below if that helps?

Many thanks in advance and keep up the great dev work! Looking forward to the iOS connectivity  Grin

Might be a problem with finding lame.dll or windows media player. I would update to the latest version of media player & reinstall FreeSCAN.. Good luck.

Ok thanks for that, checked media player and its the latest version.

I'll try setting WMP as my default player to see if that corrects the issue as I currently use VLC as the default...

... Ok that doesnt work either. When you say lame.dll, should this be in the C:\Program Files\Freescan folder? There is a lame.exe but no lame.dll??

Also I've noticed that a number of other programs I use have the lame_enc.dll could there be a conflict between different versions of lame?

Ok, just to be sure there were no confilcts this afternoon I built a brand new Win 7 Ulitmate x86 virtual machine. Only software I installed was Freescan and still get the same error.... WMP is installed by default with win 7)

I also just built a Win XP virtual machine and agin same problem, so I think its likely going to turn out to be a conflict with the soundcard...

Any ideas? Happy to provide sys logs if it helps?

Also, its probably worth mentioning I can record and save sound files from this input with programs such as audacity etc, onlyo one which crashes is freeescan Sad
