I have searched the forum but have found nothing that helps me....

just hopefully a couple simple questions...

when in virtual control of my 396xt, the P25 err rate changes a lot, and that is without a P25 signal present at the time it changes....at times it is almost 0 and then instantly goes right to the maximum......

also, while scanning, and no active transmissions, my signal strength meter constantly bounces from 0 to almost max....I was told once that this was from control channels making it do that...I am in a rural area, and I only have a couple trunking systems in my scanner....I find it hard to believe this is coming from trunking control channels, especially seeing they on come on once in about every 10 seconds.....also, squelch is at the lowest threshold.....I think I may be missing transmissions....

any info would be appreciated....

So what is your question about the P25 error rate?

The signal strength meter depends on what you are receiving. Control channels are active all the time, so when it detects one it will go up, and it doesn't matter if you are located in the city or a rural area.

Hope that clears things up.
