hi,

i just bought a Uniden USC230-E. Remote controlling this scanner using Freescan works perfectly but reading (conventional) system from it doesn't work at all. lowering speed etc doesn't work.

it only sees 1 system in the queuelist it seems. i get errors:

"2out of bounds unable to parse string ERR"

and

"13out of bounds unable to parse string ERR"

ani ideas please? afaik this scanner is thesame as sc230 but with some racestuff in it (wich i dont use)

If it only sees one system and there are more, that tells me that there is some kind of an issue with basic communications. If you are using a USB adapter, try removing any extension cables or hubs. Also try to make sure "Use carreful mode" is selected. Might need to try different USB-Serial drivers as well.

hello Assaf,

I'm using the serial port with usb. bctool reads all systems fine btw. thats why i think comms itself is ok. carefull IO was enabled from the beginnning and doesnt make a difference it seems.

thx for your time by the way!!!!

Well you are the first person in memory to try FS with a european SC230. Can you try downloading again then click on "Things you can do" and select Copy IO Log To Clipboard and paste the results here?? It will give me a better idea of whats going on.. thanks.

Nope no harm done. Its looking like there might be an issue with the way that systems are read off the USC230, it's not programmed for that model and is mistaken it for another scanner. I will put a patch up soon and it hopefully it will fix the problem.

many many MANY thx!

your post reminds me that FreeScan once showed a popup telling that this scanner was not compatible. still i never had this popup again

EDIT: so this means there are more differences than the racething between SC230 and USC230-E? theres not allot of info about the type i have. Most of them are sold here as Albrecht AE230 btw.

The only difference I know of is that one is unblocked.. But try downloading version 2.08 of FS and see if that fixes the issue.
