Just updated to version 2.05, and had to update the prolific usb-to-serial comm port drivers for another radio. I can download and upload to the radio with Freescan just like before after the upgrade to the new version and setting the com port correctly, but now I can't remote control without a fatal error. Here is the error dialog that comes up, then the program crashes - any idea of what this NAudio file is that is referenced below?

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I have tried rebooting with the usb cable disconnected, then connect after the computer comes up again (and it beeps). It still crashes when trying to remote control, but works fine with uploads/downloads.

I am running Windows Vista business.

Thanks for any help!

You might try turning off the audio recording stuff, and I bet you'll get further into the program. If you do then, try changing the recording settings, and see what works.

Happy Scanning,
Ben

I suggest doing a reinstall of FS. You might be missing one of the needed files.

Thanks Assaf - you nailed it! That was the issue. Apparently during the install something didn't go quite right so not all of the support files were loaded. It may have been with the install of the 2.05 version along with the new drivers without a reboot between them that something wasn't happy during the installation of the latest Freescan version. After the uninstall and re-install, everything is back to normal and working great with my Uniden 346XT. Sorry I couldn't get back to try this until late this evening, but I very much appreciate the quick reply.  Cheesy
