Programmed my bct15x using the free scan. BCT15x has latest firmware.
After I upload to scanner, the scanner shows "Nothing to Scan"
I uploaded one conventional system (various vhf and uhf freq) and one trunked 800 system.
If i select quick key 2 it scans, but if i return to the conventional system in quick key 1 it shows nothing to scan.

I've checked everything, cant seem to figure it out.
Any ideas?

thanks

Check to make sure your QKs are enabled in the system quick key manager, also check to make sure you have "Send QK status" checked when you upload. If they are not enabled in the system QK manager they will be off by default when you upload. For the problem you are having with QK1, it sounds like the system is locked out, or all the groups within the system are locked out or quick key disabled.

I have also had the same thing with my original 15.  I just turn off the radio (which you need to do to save programming anyway), and turn it back on.  It works just fine then.

This happened to me before when I owned a BCT15. It had never done this before, then one day after a file upload it did the exact same thing you mention. I posted about it at a few sites and found that turning the scanner off after a file upload then back on will solve the problem. I now own a BCT15X and it has done this from the very first upload. I have never got a real reason why this happens.

That's totally wierd. Must be something with the USB port and an overrun condition of some kind.

Anyway, here's all the reasons that 'Nothing to Scan' can pop up, from the RR wiki

I have posted my Freescan file before at radio reference before and no one could figure out why this happens. If people want to look at the file I will post it here as well. I have checked everything and I'm at a loss as to why this happens.

I uploaded this system to a 996T and a 346XT (I dont own the 15X) and they both scanner about 4 systems normally once the upload was completed. I will try and dig into more though, perhaps the system QK status isn't being sent to the 15X properly.

I use the same base files and create different files for each scanner I own (396XT, 996T, 996XT, 15, 15X).  So 99% of the settings are the same for each scanner.  The same "nothing to scan" has happened for me with both of the 15s.  I just got the 15X, but it seems to me that it did not use to happen with my old 15.  Maybe one of the software updates?  But, it still is necessary to turn off the radio to save the new upload, so it is not a big deal to me.  Turning it off handles both items.

Absolutely not a big deal, I just wish I knew why it happens?

I did some investigating and the 15x uses the exact same command to Qk status according to the command protocal.  Fs sends it the exact same command. So i am a bit stumped as to where the disconnect is.
