I have a bcd396xt and was wondering how I could set up a favorite list so when the scanner dispatches our fire dept. I could just hit a quick key and go to this list and just listen to the fire depts. instead of all the other systems programed in the scanner.
Thanks for all your help.

Have you looked in to using Quick keys for this? Think that may be about as close as the radio will come to a favorites. I suppose, if the fire dept(s) are all conventional, you could set up one group as Favorites, give it a system quick key. That would toggle that group on/off when you used the quick key. To get the others to NOT scan, they would need their own quick keys, but they could all be the same quick key and effectively turn them all off at once. So, you have the city you're in and 3 surrounding cities...each with PD and Fire. You could set up Systems with City1PD and another system with City1Fire. Continue this for the other 3 cities. Set all the PD quick keys to 1 and all the fire quick keys to 2. Then when you want to listen to JUST fire (touch quick key 1 which would turn off the PD, another touch of the 1 key and PD is back).

What I was getting at with the "favorites" system would be to put all the fire in there and use the one quick key on that system...but you would always have all the FD's going if that system were on.

Am I getting anywhere near close to what you want to do?

Most of our fire companies are on 800mz. I am having a little problem understanding the quick key concept. I have about 5 systems in the scanner but don't know weather they are set up with quick keys or not.
Is there anyway I could upload the file I have and have you look at it and make the changes and I'm sure when I look at it I will be able to see what you have done?
I just went from a GRE 500 where it allowed you to create a favorite list and you just hit the fav key on the scanner and it would just monitor those frequencies.
I just got this scanner and am trying to understand how to program it.
Thanks for your help and assistance in this matter.
