Hi, so the IT guy that set all this up is no longer working with us. I can't get freescan to connect again. It keeps coming back with "bad data" "incompatible". Not sure what to do from here?Huh?

Also I only have 1 computer recording the calls. I don't know how to get free scan to record the calls on my other computers???

Thank you for your amazing software and I would be so thankful if you could assist me in trying to get it up and running!!

Thank you Jen

First thing to look at:

Menu
Settings
Set C-CH Output

make sure it is Off

As for your recording, do you know if it is turned on in FreeSCAN or are you having some issue with the audio setup on that computer?

Tom,

It seems to be an on and off issue with us. We have them one two radios connected to one computer and using split screens for logging. One city will play while the other doesn't. Not sure. I have checked the audio on the computer and it's running fine, because a week ago it was up and running, now it's back down again.

So you have 2 radios hooked to 1 computer?

Are you using 1 instance of FreeSCAN or 2?

Do you have 2 sound cards/devices?

Sounds like maybe you're trying to get 2 different FreeSCANs to control 2 different radios (I believe that will work) but with one sound card/device and I'm guessing that the first instance of FreeSCAN that gets there, wins the attention of the sound card/device. Not sure what you can do about that other than buy another sound card/device and hope for the best.

Tom

ps - this is a TOTAL guess on my part. All normal disclaimers apply

I'd start with just ONE radio connected/running/recording. Get that working reliably and then see if the second can be added in after that. I have my doubts but suppose it MIGHT be done with another installation of FreeSCAN and another audio card.

Maybe Assaf will share his thoughts on this.

Right now you can only record from one scanner per computer.. But you should be able to control as many as you want.
