Sorry if this is a repeat, but my Laptop has a female serial port, and the cable supplied has a female end.
My question, has anyone had this siuation? And did a simple 9-pin male to male adaptor solve the problem?
Or, what was your resolution?
Thanks in advance.
Look VERY closely at the D style connector on your laptop - I'm guessing there are 3 rows of pins instead of the 2 usually found on the serial port.
As Assaf says, it's rather doubtful that a relatively new laptop has a serial port on it, most do not - instead they have USB ports and interface that way. Takes less space and there does seem to be a trend to USB instead of the "classic serial port".
