Is there a way to reset the unit to the factory settings?

You can go to the download or upload dialog boxes, then click on FreeSCan * My Scanner Quick Editor, then select Reset All Memory. There is also a keyboard shortcut you can use, I think its Hold+2+9 while you are turning it on
