I am in the process of learning - have always had a scanner, but now want to get trunked/digital freqs.  I know there is a big learning curve.  However, from what I saw I could get this going pretty easy with a radio reference account and freescan.  i open freescan, connect to RR and in my freescan box I can see a list of channels/freqs.  I went through the scanner optimizer, and it all looks good now.  When i click "upload to scanner" I get another box with systems on the left.  I check them all and have the radio button selected to replace any existing system by the same name and then click "load programming".  I get an error "critical error, invalid response code or insufficient resources, aborting channel programming".  how can i fix this?

It sounds like a problem with the COM port configuration. Are you able to download from the scanner?

Nope, guess I need to try to figure out why the com port isnt working.  The computer says it is working fine and the latest driver is installed.
