Am I doing something wrong?

My Uniden Bearcat BCD396XT is on the way, so I thought I would practice and try to to setup a few systems in freescan.
I created a new Motorola type II trunked system, and tred to use ez grab to copy the info from radioreference. The dropdowns that from the tutorial look to allow selecting freq and info such as that don't seem to be present. All I get to select are Ignore, TGID,Name,Comment,Name+Comment.
Do I need to be connected to the scanner for the other dropdowns to appear. Again I am not connected to a scanner as I am doing the import, am I missing something?
Thanks,
Thadster

There are 3 different versions of EZ Grab, depending on what you need to copy. You are looking at the one for TGIDs, since frequency data can't be entered here, it isn't available. To specify frequencies, you have to enter them at the site level and there is a an EZ Grab for that.

Thank you for the help, I downloaded a "sample" of the data that gets downloaded from RR. It is making a little more sense. Could a I save out my current (simple) scanner config and upload it so someone can view it and see if it looks right. The conventional setup I think I have down, but the trucked system I am not sure I have right.
Thanks again

Again, thanks for the help, its a little difficult getting a handle on setting up a scanner efficiently.
I pulled the data from radio reference for the state of Oregon, Deschutes County. (Bend Area). I created a convential system for the non trunked freqs, and a trunked system for the trunking system. I threw in a bunch of amatuer repeaters to make sure I had the jist.
I noticed that radio reference mentioned that the control freqs for the trunked system are red, alternate control channels are blue. Does it matter to either freescan or the scanner as to the control vs alternative control, or do they just all need to be there.
It did not seem possible to create a conventional group within a trunked system. I was trying to keep everything in local area in one system, is this the wrong way to do it?
Can you glance over the saved files? I mainly want to make sure I set up the trunked system right. If there is a better way please let tell me how.

WHile you can't put a conv group in a trunk system, you can assign them the same quick key and then turn them off at the same time. I am not familiar with the type of system you are trying to program so I can't say for sure, but it looks like it should work.

Thadster,
A couple of suggestions--
Don't forget to set System/Site Quick Keys for the two conventional systems and for the site of the trunked system.
Don't forget to set Group Quick Keys for all groups.
I'd change the name of the site of the trunked system to something other than "Site 1", probably to "Bend poh-leece TRS". Otherwise, if you have more than one trunked system with sites named "Site 1" you won't know which one you're scanning since the top line of the scanner displays the site name as opposed to the system name.
Hope you enjoy the new scanner.

Okay, sounds like good ideas.
One problem I seem to be having with freescan though is I save a detup, but cannot seem to reload it to work on it later. I have the latest version of freescan, but it sometimes will not reload a setup I just saved.
Any ideas?

Yes, I think it said the version of Freescan I am using was the wrong one, the problem seems to come and go. Next time it happens I will copy it down.
