Someone has told me they are having problems with systems not appearing in the desired order when uploading to this scanner, even after doing a full erase. Has anyone else experienced this? They should appear in the same order as they do in the tree view.

Hello Assaf,

Thank you for the FreeSCAN update.  I loaded it after using .9D successfully.
With .9E, the systems in my 396XT do come in the order as the tree in the software.

However, I have one question.  With .9D both my 396T and 396XT do upload to scanner with no errors  Now with .9E, my 396T uploads without errors, but the 396XT loads with "Errors: 1".   The tranferring arrows between pc and scanner do not go away, nor does the big check mark appear indicating "Done".

The scanner seems to operate properly.  See attached.  I just uploaded custom settings for the attached snipping.

What does the errors imply and how to correct?

Thank you.

Thanks for getting back to me with the upload order.

For the error you are getting, .9E has fixed a problem with uploading and download Fire Tone Out settings. However, fixing one might have caused another one. I've been busy the past week but with a bit of luck I'll get another fix out for that shortly. If you do get an error again, you can just click on the number indicating how many errors you got and it will bring up a window showing what the errors were.

Thank you Assaf, for answering so quickly.

I did click on the "1" in "Errors: 1", and got the message:  "Fire Tone Out Settings are invalid - cannot upload."  So this is what you are referring to.

Thinking that the limits that I had were invalid, I changed all the limits from 0 to 0 with the ones shown in the attached snipping. and got the same results:  "Errors: 1" and the same message ("Fire Tone.......").

Thank you,
Peter

Fire Tone Upload is the one error in this release.
Overall everything else for me is working as advertised.
Thanks for all the hard work you put into the program!

I noticed that after I updated the PL tones in the data base and upload the new update do not u[date in the radio.  It has happened on 4 different files.  Besides that the new version is working great.

I had someone test uploading tones on their 396XT and they said it worked. I am wondering can you email me one of the files to webmaster@scannow.org. That way I can see first hand if there is something funny with the way stuff is being downloaded or if there is just something weird with the files.

I sent you the file, It only happens when I make changes to the private line on the computer them upload them to the radio.  The frequency changes take hold but not the private line changes.

I am not sure what private lines are but everything in that file looks OK. Do you mean CTCSS/DCS tones by private lines? If so then the changes will take. Once you change the tone, there is nowhere for the old tone to be stored, so when you upload the new tone always gets uploaded. I am wondering if you might have a duplicate system somewhere?
