I've pretty much figured out how to use FreeSCAN with my 396XT but I’m running into one problem. Every time I load the scanner with FS, the scanner starts off in custom search “Search with Scan” and then scans my programmed systems. What I have to do is go into the search setting in the scanner and turn off Search with Scan. Where is the option to turn it off, so only my systems will scan when I start up the scanner? 

I would goto Scanner * Set scanner Options then click on Custom Search and make sure all of them are locked out. Also, click on the service search tab and cycle through to make sure all those are locked out as well. Reupload making sure there is a check in the box telling it to send custom scanner settings and you should be all good.

That did the trick. Thanks for the help and quick reply. It was driving me crazy.
