Well, I picked up my 396XT last night. So far so good.
Uploaded my 996t file and all seems well.
Question about battery charging.
It is set to 14 hours. If I turn on the scanner while charging, or unplug it, does the 14 hour timer reset? Guess my real question is, is the scanner smart enough to know when the batteries are full?

I believe it is basically a "simple timer circuit" and the charge time will restart after you plug it in.

I've recently gotten one of the Maha chargers and think it is a very nice unit. You might want to check into something like that.
